這是一個古老的樂觀者信條，紐約的甜甜圈店Mayflower Donut Shop (1930s-1970s)曾經把它當作座右銘，我則是在Margaret Atwood的小說Blind Assassin中讀到，覺得頗適合拿來砥礪現在的自己，因此就在這裡記上了。
